Frequently Asked Questions
Which Kind of Doodle is the best?
We love all doodles, we even have a goldendoodle, Ellie. But Sheepadoodles are the most likely to NEVER shed as neither parent sheds, where as Goldens, Bernese Mt Dogs, etc. all shed. Sheepadoodles have amazingly fun, silly, lovable personalities.
How much are your puppies?
Daisy's Puppies are $2500. Olive's puppies are $1850. Puppies are raised inside our homes with full time training and cuddling. They come with current vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, health checked by a licensed veterinarian, free 30 Health Insurance with Trupanion, a $15 Amazon gift card to purchase a training book, a bag of their current food, collar, chew toy, water dish, blanket with littermate and moms scent, a birth certificate. You will receive many photos and videos of your pup as it grows.
Why is the price different for Olive and Daisy puppies?
No reason other than that Daisy's first two litters were $2500 so we stayed consistent, even with inflation.
How large will they be?
Olive's and Daisy's puppies will be around 50-75 pounds. Ask me about specific puppies and I can give my estimate.
Will my Sheepadoodle shed?
While not guaranteed, it is highly unlikely your Sheepadoodle will shed. This is because Old English Sheepdogs do not shed (this is hard to believe with how furry they are but this is indeed the case) and Poodles do not shed. For people desiring a non shedding doodle, Sheepadoodles are the best option. Daisy does not shed and poodles do not shed, so odds are likely their puppies will not shed.
What will their fur texture be like?
It will either be shaggy, wavy or curly. Most are wavy or curly. Olive has some VERY curly puppies (Kermit and Lobo are the curliest)
How can I choose my puppy?
We will allow you to choose via sharing our personalities observations and video/photos. Choosing is in order of deposit received. We are not allowing in person visits because of this unknown dog virus currently going around. We are more than happy to video chat with you and the puppies. Olive's litter can choose now - we have learned that ALL of our puppies have wonderful personalities and will bond with you, are well behaved as long as you train and love them.
When can I take my puppy home?
When they are 8 weeks.
How Can I get my puppy?
UPDATE: We are delivering puppies from Daisy's litter to the Tri-Cities and Hermiston area on Wed Dec. 13th or Thur Dec 14th. Note to Oregon families Umatilla/Hermiston is a good meeting point. Seattle and west side families we are planning on meeting near Ellensburg or closer to Seattle. You have options! Pick up at our house in Spokane, meet us part way to Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Ellensburg, Hood River, Idaho, Oregon, etc. If a lot of our buyers are from one area, like Seattle, we may deliver a group of puppies to Seattle area in December of 2023.
Can I pick up my puppy after the go home date?
We are flexible with pick up dates, contact us for to discuss.
How much is the deposit?
Deposits are $500 and are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed. The deposit applies towards your purchase price. In rare situations we may refund 50% of your deposit if we find another suitable home within a short time frame.
Why is the holding fee non-refundable?
Our holding fee is non-refundable because people who are “shopping” for any puppy, rather than being committed to purchasing a puppy from Northwest Sheepadoodles, can significantly inflate the number of people on the waiting list. This gives a false impression to serious buyers regarding timelines and can prevent truly committed families from reserving a puppy.
Additionally, the amount of time spent communicating with clients is significant. Just like your time is of value, so too is ours. In the event that a family decides to not take a puppy, we still expect to be compensated for our time and efforts, the Reservation Fee covers this.
Do you ship?
No, we do not ship puppies but you can arrange a flight nanny. We are happy to meet you at the Spokane airport (airport code GEG) or elsewhere. We will meet you partway to areas in Washington, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Montana, Idaho at no charge.
What to bring when taking your puppy home:
This is always a question that is asked but the answer is much simpler than you might think. I suggest that you bring a towel or two, just in case of an 'accident' by the puppy, and someone to hold him/her on the trip home. Most make it home without incident, but the towel will be ready in case they do not, and we will provide you with pee pads as well :) Puppies do experience some trauma when leaving their littermates. It is a bit of a shock to them and they need all the snuggling and reassurance they can get!
Putting them in a crate is too impersonal but may be the only option for you. They are lonely since they are used to having multiple other siblings to play with at a moment's notice up until that time. When you hold them, or place them on the floorboard where you can reach them to reassure them, then the trip is less frightening to them. The close contact on the trip also allows for bonding to take place with the puppy, and whoever is holding them. This is a good thing. This helps prevent as much trauma as possible and actually secures his or her dependence upon you or your family right away.
IMPORTANT NOTE* When taking the pup to a pet store, any store, or the vet, it is always wise to carry them at all times. This is because they have had only one set of shots at this time and dogs with full immunity will be tracking all sorts of diseases in on their feet. This does not harm them but can harm the young pup that is just beginning to build its own immune system now that it is away from mom. Once they have had their three sets of puppy shots you will not need to worry about this.
